Why China’s Payment Apps Give U.S. Bankers Nightmares
Wandering the streets of Shanghai to admire the architecture, the head of one of the largest U.S. consumer banks recently found himself surrounded by a gaggle of teenagers. Entranced by their phones, they hardly made way for the banker. The teens were messaging, shopping and sending money back and forth, all without cash. Instead, they were using Alipay and WeChat. The scary thing for the American: Banks never got a cut. Read more here…
NZTA Transport Operating System
We are very excited to announce our team has been awarded by NZTA, to lead the development of its Transport Operating System program/ single stage business case – a multi-million dollar transport technology investment decision for the agency.
Next Generation Ticketing System – Independent Certifier
In addition to our AFC panel arrangement with NZTA we are pleased to be invited by TransLink to provide a proposal on the Independent Certifier role on the Next Generation Ticketing System.
UK Government’s UTMC and Data Catalogue Review
The Department for Transport (DfT) has commissioned the Transport Systems Catapult (TSC) to carry out two reviews of potential major changes to the highways and transport data world. Read more here…

ITS Summit 2018
ITS Australia will host the 6th Australian Intelligent Transport Systems Summit 2018 with a theme of ‘Shaping Future Transport’. Staff Spotlight: Craig Orth
Craig has recently joined us as our Operations Consulting Lead. Craig is well-known in the international tolling, ITS and transportation industries, most recently as Director Tolling Group, Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). He is a successful government agency senior leader bringing more than 30 years of diverse government agency experience with proven success in delivering high performance commercial and operational business results. Did you know that – Australia’s national road network is a $280 billion-plus asset with road network covers more than 817,000kms. Approximately 657,000kms are controlled by local government, although state-controlled roads account for about three quarters of all vehicle kilometres travelled.

A huge congratulations to Dennis Walsh and ITS Australia for winning the bid to host the ITS Asia Pacific in May 2020. We look forward to working as part of the broader ITS industry to support the advancement of Transport Technology.
